Our home is set in a central location and offers 4 guest rooms. The house is a mid-Victorian, mid-terrace house on 3 floors. We aim to meet the needs of all our guests, but the Victorian features of the property might make access difficult for people with limited mobility.
We are located half a mile from the City Centre, approximately 7 minutes walk to Clifford’s Tower and the Castle Museum. There is a bus stop close by to the Railway Station. The Railway Station is approximately three quarters of mile – a 15 minute walk, 2 minutes by taxi.

To ensure your accommodation is ready, we ask that guests arrive between 12.30pm and 6pm. Earlier or later arrivals may however, be possible by arrangement.
On arrival we ask all guests to park outside the front door, where 10 minute waiting period for off loading of luggage is allowed. We offer assistance with luggage.
We have a small car park for 3 small cars at the rear of the house which is accessed by a narrow lane. Help with parking a car is given. Free on-street car parking approximately 100 yards from the house is also available.
There are three 9” steps up to the front door, which is normally open in good weather. Please ring the bell to right of the front door. The inner hallway is 4’ x 4’ with an inner glass door which is kept locked at all times. Entrance and inner hall flooring is original Victorian tiles.
To the right of the Entrance Hall is the Guests’ Lounge. Further down the Hall, again to the right, is the Dining Room. Both rooms have fitted carpets.
Guests are welcome to use the lounge at any time. The lounge has 2 sofas and hard-backed chairs. A selection of local information, maps and magazines are available.
Breakfast is served in the Dining Room. There are four dining tables, each 31” x 31”, each seating 2 people.
There is central heating throughout the house and the temperature of each guest bedroom is controlled by thermostatic controls on the radiators.
Tea, coffee, hot chocolate, Horlicks, bottled mineral water and biscuits are provided in each room. We also provide a hair dryer, sewing kit, shoe polisher and a selection of magazines. There is a folder in each bedroom which gives tourist information on York and the surrounding area.
Our beds are made up with synthetic duvets and pillows to suit the seasons. All bedrooms have “ Hammonds” fitted wardrobes, dressing tables and bedside cabinets and fitted carpets. There is a colour television with remote control and clock/radio in each bedroom.
This bedroom is at the top of the first flight of stairs (14 steps) at mezzanine level. There is a fully tiled en-suite shower, wash basin and low-level wc, with cushion-flooring. The bedroom has a 5’ x 6’6” bed with access from both sides. Additionally, there are two easy chairs and a coffee table.

The room has 2 beds: one 5’ x 6’6” and the second 3’ x 6’6”, both with access from both sides. Additionally, there are 3 bedside cabinets, 3 easy chairs and a coffee table.
Laundry facilities are not available on the premises, but there is a launderette approximately 2 miles away at: Walmgate Bar Laundromat, 39 Huby Court, Tel. 01904 628588
A wide range of shops including a Sainsbury Mini-supermarket, chemist etc are 2 minutes walk.
